little Indiana and family headed to Martin’s Restaurant in Rensselaer, Indiana.
We had heard that this Jasper County restaurant has a great breakfast–and I love eating breakfast out! Who’s with me there?
Martin’s Restaurant in Rensselaer, Indiana
We drooled over the menu featuring loads of homemade items! I couldn’t decide what I wanted.
In the end? I chose Deanna’s Special Omelet: Swiss cheese, sausage, onion, and garlic with a side of American potatoes and toast. Mmm!
Hubs got the Western Skillet. Eggs, green pepper, onions, and sausage and smooshed around to form the perfect storm of goodness (according to him). Kid #1? He was fiending for French Toast and bacon.
Our waitress kept the coffee coming while we waited for our order. Martin’s Restaurant has the cutest mugs. Aren’t they just adorable little things?
Martin’s Restaurant Food
There’s a lot of vintage tins, records, and movie posters on the walls of this Indiana mom and pop restaurant so there’s plenty to look at.
When the food arrived, well, I don’t know who Deanna is but I’d like to shake her hand. Can you say “delicious?”
Kid #1 certainly said so–and we agree! There was probably a full five minutes of silence at our table. It was a miracle! Or, at the very least, the sign of a fantastic meal.
Go There
Our bill was reasonable, the food was fantastic, and we left with very full bellies!
If I get a chance to go back to this Indiana town for more Martin’s Restaurant goodness, I’ll take it–I’d like to give their homemade biscuits and gravy a go.

Oh I love eating breakfast out. But as much as I love Mexican breakfast I’ve been craving a good American breakfasts for a while. I guess I could go to the Ihop around the corner from my house…. hehe
