The Wabash County Historical Museum in Wabash, Indiana completely rocked my socks. Both floors of the incredible building are packed with Hoosier goodness. This is not the type of museum you might be envisioning, full of dusty artifacts of things that no one really cares about. No, it’s a completely different experience inside this museum–and it may just change your way of thinking about history forever! Yes, it is just that good.
I mentioned before that the displays at this Wabash, Indiana museum aren’t just static and blah. They are functional, they are hands-on, and they were made for play! It was all so much fun. We got to look at the trains whizzing around and around the detailed train table. There’s a movie about the town in a great theater space. Oh, and don’t miss the chance to flip the switch and light up the top of the courthouse display, just like they did when Wabash became the first electrically lit city in the world!
We loved this museum because it honestly held something for everyone. We dug, rode, looked, listened, and played. And that was just my husband, Jeremy and I! Next time I’m bringing the kids. I can’t wait to show them all of the neat features of this incredible museum.
