Mayberry Cafe in Danville, Indiana takes small town to a new level–an Andy Griffith type of level! Locals love the meatloaf and the fried chicken. We enjoyed our various entrees (please see the link above to check that out). The reruns of the Andy Griffith Show were a cute touch.
The natives were restless so we did what any other parents would do in this situation: we ordered pie for ourselves to take back to our room at The Old MG Bed and Breakfast so we could enjoy it after the kids were in bed. We are all sorts of sneaky. But hey, sometimes you just don’t want to drag out a meal. We’ve traveled enough to know when the kids are done and we could see that happening before too long.
After the kids were in bed, we didn’t wait even an extra second to dig in! My slice of Sugar Cream Pie from this large Danville, Indiana restaurant has made it move up into one of my all-time favorite pies ever. It was absolute perfection! The crust was great and the pie was smooth, not gloppy as occasionally seems to happen with Sugar Cream pies. Oh, it was awesome. I highly recommend it.
