Steve’s Grill in DeMotte, Indiana is a new dining option right along the main drag.

We got in soon after the grand opening. That’s big excitement in this Jasper County town!

Remember Mike’s Kitchen (the town staple for what seemed like decades)? And then Hometown Grill after that? Don’t worry–Steve’s Grill may have taken the location, but it introduces a great new feel and a fantastic homemade menu!

Our server at Steve’s Grill assured me that “nothing was frozen.” I instantly cheered and poured over the menu with a renewed sense of purpose.

Breakfast is served all day at Steve’s Grill (which I love!), but more than that you’ll find various entrees, sandwiches, salads, and then some. Changing specials round out the offerings.

The special of the day while we were there may have been frog legs (not kidding) but I, very much a creature of habit, ordered a Reuben Sandwich.

Kid #1 got French Toast, Kid #2 wanted “Eggies!” and my husband, Jeremy, settled on the Philly Style Steakburger–our server’s recommendation. He is a fan of a good Philly!

We all dug in. For starters? Those fries are good. Oh my. We were all pleased with our order. I am happy to say that this Northern Indiana restaurant did a very nice Reuben Sandwich.

  1. I would recommend giving them a call. :) I’m sure they will help you out.

  2. Love your blog…Our son recently moved to Inidana, so we are always looking for places to meet halfway for a meal. However, one of our family members is a vegetarian, so it does present a problem for us because other than a ‘side’ salad, there isn’t a lot to offer her. Do you know if this place, Steve’s Grill, offer vegetarian fare?

Glad to hear you liked it, James. :) I know we did!

  4. Steve’s Grill is the best thing that happened to Demotte. We have eaten there three times so far and the food and service have been fantastic. Delicious food and a large selection at that. The prices are in line for the average customer. We finally have a wonderful hometown restaurant.
