She carries lots of large pieces of furniture that have been re-purposed. In other words, once stuffy pieces are given a total makeover resulting in something that’s fresh and fun.
I recognized a large buffet that perfectly resembled the piece that once sat in my grandmother’s dining room. It’s rather a heavy, dark piece of furniture. Or, at least, it was!
Kellie, owner of Dorothy Ilene’s shared that it had one more week to move or…it was getting new life with a fresh coat of paint! She has a good eye for jazzing up every day items.

Taking a break from filming, little Indiana, my husband, Jeremy, and JBH Productions decided to accept an invitation to First Fridays. This downtown event was so much fun!
It’s an evening when Dorothy Ilene’s stays open later–and offers live music and a free wine tasting from local Indiana winery McClure’s Orchard.
The “First Friday” of every month, it’s proof that there is always, always, ALWAYS something to do in a small Indiana town. You just need to know where to look! (ahem, little Indiana, remember?)
It was an evening well-spent! Great music, great wine, and great company!
