The Difference in RV Rentals at Lake Rudolph

Lake Rudolph Campground and RV Resort: Santa Claus, Indiana

Lake Rudolph Campground and RV Resort: Santa Claus, Indiana

Staying in an RV is a lot of fun. Our kids thought it was such a treat. If you have never stayed at Lake Rudolph Campground and RV Resort before, there are some things you should know. For starters–you need to bring your own linens.

Before I get into the list of what you should bring, know that there are three types of RV rentals, a standard rental, a King size rental, and a super king size rental. Each RV can sleep a maximum of eight people (four adults and four children) though the standard unit recommends between six to eight people.

They are heated and cooled so you can be comfortable no matter what the weather is doing outside. Finally, leave the pets at home and don’t ever smoke inside the RV.

Each rental features a picnic table, charcoal grill, and a fire ring with a grill attachment. The differences inside pertain to the bed sizes of the RV. For example, a standard RV rental has one bedroom with a full-sized bed and one bedroom with four twin-sized bunk beds.

The Super King Size and King Size Rental RVs both have a king bed in one room and a queen size with four twin bunk beds in the other. What’s the difference between those two? The Super King Size RV offers full-sized appliances, a larger shower, and a larger dining room table.

After staying in the Super King Size RV Rental, I would suggest splurging on it just for the larger shower.

What to Bring to Lake Rudolph for an RV Rental

If you are staying in an RV, you can’t show up empty-handed. Some things are provided for you, like a microwave, a toaster, and a coffee maker. All your kitchen utensils and dishware will be there for you, too. They even provide a broom and dish soap.

But, there are a few important items missing from the list. Here’s what you will need to pack for your RV rental vacation or weekend getaway:

  • Pillows and bedding to fit the beds in your RV rental
  • Towels for the Bathroom
  • Towels for the Kitchen
  • Portable TV, if desired
  • Food
  • Coffee Filters
  • Lawn Chairs
  • Trash Bags
  • Charcoal
  • Matches

I should add that you should pack a camera, your swimsuit, beach towels, sunscreen  (although it’s free at Holiday World, if you plan to enjoy the amenities at the campground, you’ll need it), bug spray, and sneakers. I have learned that it is wise to always travel with a backup pair of shoes, but to each his/her own.
