Hartley’s Antiques and Furniture in Arcadia, Indiana has been a part of the small town for a very long time. Wandering this humongous building is fun in itself but when you throw in the new furniture and the vintage items, there’s so much here for you to browse! The owner’s building contains so many nooks and crannies (especially on the second floor) that it seems as though there is something new to look at, wonder about, and discover.
My husband, Jeremy, and I were kid-free on this small town trip so we got to really browse. We didn’t have to worry about the kids wandering away or having to answer a bunch of questions about what things were used for “back in the day.” Instead, we got to just relax and enjoy the experience with all of our attention. Well, one thing that gets my attention are books! There’s a great selection of old books, vintage toys, and an assortment of antique quilts and blankets that are particularly nice. I found myself wishing for an extra bed in the available sizes just so I’d have somewhere to put one!
