Stop 301 Shoppes in Chesterton, Indiana is an antique shop the likes of which you haven’t seen before.

For starters–you get to browse through four train cars of stuff!

This building has seen more than a few small businesses set up within its door. Locals know it as the old restaurant, but with Stop 301 Shoppes now gracing its doors, I’m thinking this one will stick!

While there are plenty of awesome Indiana antiques here, there’s also new and gently used items. They even accept consignment items.

I admit it: I’m impressed! I did not intend to purchase a thing–and in the end had to walk back to Riley’s Railhouse Bed and Breakfast with an armful of vintage board games like Pythagoras, Avalanche, and Off to See the  Wizard. That’s certainly not all I saw, but definitely all I was able to carry!

Indiana Antique Shop

The train cars are connected to a single central building. It’s kind of neat to look out a window and see a bit of deck and then another train car! Each train car holds different vendors.

In one car, I saw so much sparkling glass. It was really a nice selection! Pinks and blues and lots of crystal.

Another car boasted vintage luggage, and yet another had a range of taxidermy (not my thing exactly, but maybe it may interest you), and loads of antique sewing baskets.

The art prints here were so nice. I could easily have picked up one or two. You know, if I had had more room to carry them!

No matter what part of this unusual Porter County attraction you find yourself in, I think you’ll agree that it’s definitely fun!
