Indiana Blogs: Sarah’s Real Life

Sarah’s Real Life is an Indiana blog that follows Sarah, a law student and fashionista.

Busy lawyer-in-training by day, fashion blogger by night, this Indiana blogger dishes up heaps of big city style.

No matter what she’s going to do or where she’s about to go, she shares her outfits–and where you can head to achieve the same look (or close to it)!

Indiana Blogs: Sarah’s Real Life

Why did you start Sarah’s Real Life?
I started SRL in May 2012. I’ve always gotten compliments on my clothes so I figured there might be a handful of people out there who would enjoy seeing what I wear every day, even if it was only my friends. Luckily, I was right!

What about that name? Why Sarah’s Real Life?
On my blog I don’t try to sugarcoat my life to look more glamorous than it is. I show the outfits I really wear, and I also include a few snapshots of interesting things I do (on the rare occasion I do something interesting).

In magazines and even in a lot of style blogs, the outfits you see were put together just for the purpose of the photo shoot or the blog post. They might look awesome in theory, but most regular people would never have an occasion to wear those outfits!

However, I also believe that just because you live somewhere less than fashion-forward doesn’t mean you can’t dress creatively and take a few risks.

So basically, I just try to be real…real-ly awesome.

What are three of your most favorite posts?
Well, everything I do is fantastic, but here are some of the posts/outfits I’m most proud of:
1. Bach Bash
2. On the Chambray Bandwagon
3. Me and My Crew

What keeps you ready and raring to post? Why do you blog?
It’s really not that hard for me! Any day I wear real clothes, I have something to blog about.

Sure, it takes extra time to take the photos, write a little blurb, and link up products I’m wearing – but really it just lets me enjoy my outfit for a little longer. Seriously, I really love my outfits.

Do you have a favorite “dress-up” accessory? What is it?
I bought a bright coral clutch from Coach for my wedding, and I love doing fancy stuff so I have an excuse to carry it.

Have you always enjoyed fashion or is this something you fell into recently?
My fashion sense and my style have changed many times over the years, but I’ve always been obsessed with clothes.

My aunt got me a fashion design drawing kit when I was about 7, and I played with it for much longer than I’d like to admit. And I didn’t have that many dolls, but you better believe I had a million outfits for them!

Not much has changed, I just get to dress myself instead of Barbies now.

What’s your fashion super hero weakness? Is there anything that makes you cave each and every time (even though you have plenty)?
Is there such thing as a fashion super hero?! If there is, I want to be one!

Anywho, there are a million things that make me cave. I see something I love and I start imagining myself wearing it in 10 different ways. Before you know it, I’m carrying a shopping bag. Whoops!

Is there anything else that you would like little Indiana readers to know about you or your blog?
Fun fact: I’m a law student at IU McKinney School of Law!

My life makes for a good mix of outfits: I go casual for class, business casual for internships, and professional for interviews and such. I like to rework different pieces in my wardrobe for different purposes, so I like to think there’s a little something for everyone on my blog. Don’t lie…you want to check it out now don’t you?
