Wolf's Fine Chocolates Homemade Chocolate Suckers

Wolf’s Fine Chocolates Homemade Chocolate Suckers

After wandering around town all day, you can bet we were surprised to find Wolf’s Fine Chocolates in Attica, Indiana. For over 100 years, folks have been visiting this small town chocolate shop.

I think all four of us were thinking along the same lines. We couldn’t wait to get inside this Fountain County shop. Who can blame us?

This is an appealing shop in so many ways. The brightly colored wrappers of chocolates on a stick remind me of when I was a kid and used to get the same thing at other chocolate shops. The smell of homemade chocolate brings me back in time. Those rows and rows of fresh chocolates of all kinds, shapes, and sizes command attention.

There are even coffee beverages available for sale as well just in case you need something to warm you up or to help cut the sweetness of one too many chocolate bars.

We browsed the cases, seeing what would jump out at us. Kid #2 made up his mind in about three seconds, choosing a foil-wrapped homemade chocolate sucker, the same kind of thing I know I used to pick out as a kid. He loved it.

Kid #1 spent a bit more time. He compared, he pondered, he paced back and forth deciding. In the end, he chose the Mint Truffles. He proclaimed it: “Good! Very minty!” I think I’ve got a future food writer in the making.

This Indiana sweet shop sure holds a variety of chocolates. Cherry Cordials, Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups, Almond Butter Toffee, Dark Chocolate Caramel, Mint Melt-a-Ways…well, those are just a small sampling of the tasty goodies awaiting you at this Indiana sweet shop. It would be a full-time job just testing it all. Do you think Wolf’s Fine Chocolates are looking to fill a position like that? I think I would be perfect for it.

My husband, Jeremy, couldn’t resist the Dark Chocolate Orange Peels and the Dark Chocolate Turtles. I sampled a bite of the orange peel. Fresh and big on citrus flavor. But as for me? If you know me, you should know by now that the milk chocolate buttercreams were calling my name. No subtle hint of flavorings here. These buttercreams were absolutely wonderful.

Lemon Buttercream, Raspberry Buttercream, Vanilla Buttercream, and Orange Buttercream made my list. I couldn’t choose a favorite. Wolf’s Fine Chocolates creates seventeen different kinds of buttercream flavors. In the interest of Little Indiana research, I probably should have tried one of each, right? I’m afraid I’ve let you down. I’ll have to fix that by making a return trip.
