Antique Shop in Converse
Locals said that it wasn’t only for the great antiques, and how nice the place looks, but also to hear all about the time John Dillinger stayed here. With a nudge like that, it doesn’t take much for us to hurry on over. They only opened in 2012–but wow, they have a nice thing going on there.
At first glance, it might feel like Converse, Indiana isn’t the most happening place, but that all changes once you hop out of your car, and start exploring. Converse is so easy to walk, it is really just a long length of a main street, that you can park your car at one end, and walk to the other. There is such a unique range of shops here in Converse.
In this long ago boarding house turned antique shop, you’ll find all sorts of things to make your house a home. We loved it! The owners have unusual pieces that we have never seen before. Be sure to ask them to show you a few of their favorite things. They will quickly direct you to several memorable items. They saw they have never seen one of the pieces–and I can tell you that we have never seen it before either. They believe it had to do with hunting. Don’t worry–it’s nothing gruesome. It’s just another neat find by people who have a knack for finding neat things.
At the time of this writing, they were just beginning renovations on a building across the street in order to expand their antique selection to include primitives. Based on what I saw just here, that addition will surely be incredible. They have an eye for finding great pieces, that is for sure.
