This recipe for homemade chocolate sauce is so fast to fix you will never turn to that jarred stuff again.
I have used it in recipes that called for jarred chocolate sauce with great success! Found on Food.com, it is quick and easy–and makes a great ice cream topping served warm over ice cream!
Homemade Chocolate Sauce Ice Cream Topping
Chocolate Sauce for Ice Cream Topping
This is a keeper! Use it in place of jarred chocolate sauce in all of your recipes!
Ingredients
- 1/2 Cup Sugar
- 2 Tablespoons Cocoa
- 1/8 teaspoon Salt
- 1 1/2-2 Tablespoons Butter
- 1/4 Cup Water (more or less)
- 1/4 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Instructions
- Combine Sugar, Cocoa, and Salt in small saucepan.
- Add enough water to thin it just enough for stirring.
- Add Butter to cocoa mixture.
- Bring to a boil over medium high heat, stirring constantly.
- Allow to boil for 1 minute, stirring.
- Remove from heat.
- Add Vanilla Extract.
- Serve warm over ice cream.
