In case you haven’t noticed, the Little Indiana Quarterly Magazine Summer Edition is out. How much fun is that? This issue is jam-packed with Hoosier fun and adventure that was made for summer traveling.
New Indiana Print and Digital Magazine Published
Find mom and pop ice cream shops. I think it was important to highlight the ice cream parlors that we have visited so far. It’s a colorful, tasty spread. Consider making it a part of your summer bucket list.
Then, I’ve got a nice section on barbecue restaurants. Mmm. You know Hoosiers are doing great things with barbecue. They cook it low and slow–and end up with incredibly delicious, melt-in-your-mouth meats.
Summer just isn’t summer until you’ve tromped through a state park. It is the perfect time to take a hike, take a walk, ride the bicycle trails, or simply enjoy a bit of peace and quiet. This guide will walk you through the state parks and give you a fabulous run-down.
Small Businesses and Hoosier Fun
One of my favorite stories highlights a business in trouble in Wabash, Indiana. It’s a long-time business that has been such an important part of the town. Now, you will know just what they carry so you can better support them. Support a small town business and you support a family and a community.
On the flip-side, I’ve got a brand new business that has its own full-sized spread. Their event venue is fabulous–and you get to see the process. It was a huge time-consuming effort to rehabilitate a broken-down building. They incorporated items from the town, like the old school’s gym flooring, to make it old yet new again. The dazzling space has quite the story to tell. I know you will love to read it.
Don’t miss the crossword puzzle full of Indiana trivia. How well do you know your state? I think there’s a few facts in there that may surprise you.
