Eclectic and fun, Junk in the Trunk in downtown Danville, Indiana is a joy to browse. I knew from the outside that this was going to be good. I didn’t know it was going to be incredible. There’s such a wonderful selection that our whole family found something to “ooh” and “aah” over.

Located on the square, I immediately saw this new addition to the Hendricks County Courthouse square. we hurried over to welcome the “new kid” in town and to see what was going on here. The shop windows let you know it was going to be good. They were definitely accurate.
This new shop is nice and bright. The exposed brick walls are fabulous. They are in a color I simply love–and I know you will, too. The large front windows make it a delight to shop. There’s no dusty, dark corners here. It’s easy to see everything and everything is clean, clean, clean.
Junk in the Trunk holds excellent Indiana antiques, neat metal art, gorgeous pieces of furniture, and then some. The pieces all appear to be in really great shape. This would be an antique shop and not a junk shop or flea market type of business. That means that there is nothing to be done–you can bring it home and use it. There’s no repairing, major painting, or fixing of any of these pieces.
They pride themselves on selling high-quality, lovely furniture that’s ready to go. He pointed out a few of his more unusual pieces–though I think we noticed those right away. The metal art is really something. You don’t see these clever, creative pieces every day. They would add a little something to any room that needs a touch of whimsy.
For those with specific collections, you may find those too. I did notice a large amount of chairs and sofas. If you need a new vintage place to sit, I think Junk in the Trunk would be a great first visit. They have extraordinary like-new pieces to dazzle any room.

Danville, Indiana has such a wealth of interesting mom and pop shops downtown but nothing quite like Junk in the Trunk. What a nice addition to an already incredible downtown. If only every small town were so lucky to have such a range as this one.
I know I have my eye on a wonderful piece of furniture. It’s one of those awesome vintage dressers. If it will fit in the space I want it for, it’s so coming home with me next time. How about you?
