This is not your typical chocolate chip cookie dough dessert dip recipe, oh no, this is a fabulous toffee chocolate chip cookie dough recipe. The addition of toffee chips really takes it to a whole new level. But don’t worry even the kiddos will still love it. Elbows-throwing, trash-talking–I’ve seen grown-ups fighting over this stuff.

Fast to throw together, this is one of those dessert recipes that will leave you wondering how you ever did without it. You see, I love to bring desserts to things. Pitch-in dinners, church luncheons, an evening with friends, or grilling out, I am kind of known for my desserts.

I used to bring cakes or cupcakes to any dinner that required me to “pitch in,” but during the summer months I wasn’t about to turn on the stove for so long. Okay, I wasn’t about to turn on the oven at all, let alone for the half an hour it can take to bake, not including all that time for preheating the oven. I wanted a better solution.

There had to be something I could bring along that would still make everyone happy yet keep my kitchen cool. If it could be time-saving, that would be ideal. After all, when we finally have warm weather, the last thing I want to do is spend all day in the kitchen.

So, for the last few months I have continually turned to dessert dips to provide the sweet snack everyone seems to crave but without the huge hassle on my end of things. Time can be tight. Dessert dips make it so simple. Keep the ingredients on hand and you will never have to do that last minute rush to the local grocery store either.

I like to serve these dips with graham cracker sticks, pretzel chips (those flat made-for-dipping pretzels in the deli section of your grocery store), or vanilla wafers. The original recipe called for regular-sized chocolate chips but take my lead here–you want to use mini chocolate chips. It’s a whole lot easier to dip with the smaller chunks of chocolate.

The only thing you need to remember is to allow the toffee chocolate chip cookie dough dip some time to chill (typically two hours) and to put it into a serving bowl before bringing it anywhere. Sure, you can make and take it if you so choose but for presentation, scoop it into a nice bowl before heading out the door.

It is a refrigerator dip, so keep tabs on how long you have had it sitting out. Or, better yet, look for one of the (affiliate link) items below to make your dip safe to eat for longer. You will need to check on it (the ice does melt) but I find them so time-saving. Do you see a theme here?
