I had never been to Gas City, Indiana before. As I began making my way downtown, the sign for Dragonfly Cottage immediately caught my eye. I reacted quickly and turned into a nearby parking lot. I was so excited to head inside. It looked like the kind of shop that is right up my alley: a nice mix of vintage and repurposed items set inside a charming space.
When I stepped in, I was even more excited to learn that this was a brand new business. I was thrilled that I managed to pop into this one at just the right moment.
Many things caught my eye. Vintage books, teacups, furniture, and other home decor are often combined with shabby chic elements for a comfortable, eye-catching, and styling end result. Each piece seems thoughtfully placed for maximum appeal. It works. I couldn’t help moving from section to section, admiring just about everything.

Aside from whimsical and shabby chic pieces galore, there are also items that carry a Christian or a country theme. Poke around, be sure to look up high on shelves, and you will find it.
It’s always exciting to discover a new locally owned business that carries home decor–especially one as lovely as this beautiful, beautiful shop. There’s a great atmosphere in here and the owner couldn’t be nicer.

Dragonfly Cottage is going out of business as of March 31st (2016) will be our last day on 125 west main street Gas City, Indiana. Thank you for all your support we have met some wonderful people on this journey but God has something else in store for me and my Family and I’m so excited for our new journey ..if you have any questions about our hours please call 765-506-2556 everything must go..
I hope you have a chance to visit this business before they close their doors forever. There is parking on the street in front of the shop as well as a parking area. Go there and love it.
