We were hungry. Actually, we were probably closer to starving by that point. It had been a busy, but fun, day of exploring the many shops in downtown Nashville, Indiana. The Trolley certainly caught our eye.

In shades of red and yellow, the Trolley can’t help but attract attention. It’s so cute and fun. I’d say it’s a kid magnet. This is definitely a kid friendly destination but don’t worry–the food is great for any age. Honest!

Hickory Smoke Pork BBQ Sandwiches, Italian Sausage with Grilled Peppers and Onions, and Homemade Sloppy Joe Sandwiches were just a handful of items on the menu during the time of our visit. There is a condiment bar located to the left of the order window. That’s where you’ll find the ketchup, mustard, and napkins.

Kid #1 is obsessed with Sloppy Joe Sandwiches. If he had his way, we would have them at least once a week. He was overjoyed that they had them on the menu. He claimed “dibs” so fast.  Kid #2 wanted the same thing. It came with a side of baked beans. They enjoyed every bite.

I almost forgot to mention the best part of this Indiana town restaurant: the beverages! There’s more than the familiar soft drinks and water. You can get those anywhere. But here? There’s something you don’t normally find outside of summer–or the county fair. The Trolley not only has hot or cold apple cider, something sure to please on a warm or cool day, like orange or lemon shake-ups.

Yes, that fair favorite is available year round–if you happen to be near the Trolley in Nashville, Indiana. I love a good, fruity shake-up. They are made fresh. Mmm. Now that is good stuff.

I did get the hot apple cider. It hit the spot and warmed me right up. It was the perfect addition to a lovely Indiana autumn day spent in beautiful Brown County, Indiana. The people watching was just a fun, little bonus.
