This converted trolley is fabulous. Really little kids will probably think it’s a train. Big kids will find it fascinating. The Trolley features a menu of homemade items as well as the usual kid-friendly sort of food like hot dogs and grown-up favorites like nachos. The specials are always changing. They like to keep it interesting.

There’s also something else on the menu sure to excite any barbecue food lover: the Trolley in Nashville is another Indiana barbecue joint! We did try the barbecue. We also had a hot dog (our youngest), the sloppy Joe’s (our oldest), and pulled pork. We enjoyed it all, sampling each other’s entree just to compare. Yum!

Thirsty? If you looked closely at some of the images, you may have noticed a sign that is sure to excite the fair food fanatics in the crowd. They offer lemon or orange shake-ups!

Combine some good Hoosier barbecue with hot or cold cider or a lemon or orange shake-up, and it’s a definite people-pleaser. I mean, where else can you get lemon shake-ups outside of a good old county fair? I think that is a really fun touch. It would taste especially good when strolling around, shopping, and trying to beat the heat.

No matter what you order, you can take it over to the condiments cabinet. It is stocked with plenty of items from barbecue sauce to ketchup and mustard (and some things in between) to help make your meal your own. It’s where you will find napkins as well as the other things you’ll need.

Sure, you could take it back to wherever you are staying. But, if I were you, I’d sit tight right where you are. Nothing beats the Trolley in terms of people watching. You can easily people watch from the covered seating area, or soak up the last bits of Autumn sun, and watch the crowds strolling through downtown Nashville, Indiana.

The second story upper level seating deck really is a nice touch. You know it is exactly where every kid is going to try to sit. Let them. It’s got a great view. I think it is a fitting place to view this scenic small town from a comfortable vantage point. Definitely add the Trolley to your Brown County restaurant list. It’s a classic dining experience for kids–and adults.
