DuFour's in Irvington, Indiana

DuFour’s in Irvington, Indiana

When you walk into Dufour’s in the heart of Irvington, Indiana you’ll be struck by two things:  the warmth of the restaurant and the smell of what’s cooking in the kitchen for the day.

Dufour’s offers a mid-sized menu, but whatever you order, it’s guaranteed to be mouth-watering.

This Marion County restaurant offers farm-to-table ingredients that will leave you wanting more.

Situated in an old bank, Dufour’s is a casual atmosphere, with plenty of local artwork along the walls. The outdoor patio is the perfect setting if the weather is nice. On this December morning, we sat indoors and could smell their coffee as we opened the front door. It was wonderful.

If you think culinary creativity does not exist in Indy, head over to Dufour’s in Irvington.

I ordered the Mama Dufour’s French Toast. The bread is homemade and dusted with powdered sugar and served with syrup. I also ordered a breakfast sandwich. Fried egg on Texas toast which was warm and soft. Everything seemed very fresh and made from scratch.

Our 2-year-old son ordered off the kid’s menu – pancakes Mickey Mouse style. Our waitress brought out some apple sauce for our son before his meal came out.

My husband had the Country Skillet which was packed with meat and cheese and came with a multi-grain bagel. We both enjoyed a mimosa which had very good champagne to OJ ratio.

It felt as if we were dining in a cozy coffee shop with a lot of cool historic Irvington material to admire. Art features sights in Indianapolis, and many are of Irvington sights. If you like good food and local art and crafts you should head to Dufour’s.

Service was warm, friendly, and attentive. The decor and feel of the place was like home.

The overall experience was enough to bring me back again if I’m ever in Irvington for breakfast. Next time I will try the biscuits and gravy at this Central Indiana restaurant!
