As soon as you step into this diner, you can’t help but notice that wonderful smell of burgers cooking.

There’s none of those frozen burgers here! No way! Jim Dandy’s Diner is known for amazing burgers, fresh ground daily, as well as fresh cut fries, and hand-dipped milkshakes.

Glancing over the menu, I knew this Northern Indiana restaurant would be a hit with all of you burger lovers! There’s a lot of interesting burger combinations!

Our oldest wanted a big bowl of homemade chili and our youngest was excited about mini corn dogs.

My husband, Jeremy, almost immediately claimed dibs on the “Killer” burger, a chili, onion ring, and pepperjack cheese burger. I was so mad he beat me to it! I had wanted the Southwestern (same thing, minus the chili) but for “research” purposes, I don’t like to get things that  are too alike.

I was torn between “Dan’s  Red Hot,” battered jalapeno peppers, grilled onions, pepperjack, and Siracha mayo and the Olive Swiss Burger.

But as for me? I decided on the “Juicy Lucy,” a 9 oz. burger stuffed with cheddar cheese. Oh my! That was an excellent, excellent burger! Really, it was perfectly seasoned and so very tasty.

We ordered milkshakes to go around. Kid #1 and I were thrilled to see Dreamsicle milkshakes on the menu! Served with a wafer and a second cup because there’s just so much, Kid #1 and I could have easily shared this one. They also had Chocolate, Strawberry, Vanilla, Cherry, and Pineapple. Neat!

Share the basket of awesome homemade fries. In fact, we should have had Kid #2 get the corn dogs without fries and had him share the basket with the rest of us–there’s plenty to go around! They were so very good–it reminded me of my grandma’s cooking.

Special thanks to Rich G. for the email recommending Jim Dandy’s Diner as a place I might like to try. As you can see, he was right!
