We had spent a very full day in the area but we needed lunch. Plus, you probably know by now how much we love, love, LOVE Mexican food! We had heard that El Rodeo was fantastic and were eager to check it out for ourselves.
In a fun twist of fate, we were able to lunch with Nancy Sartain, the fabulous tourism rep from Visit Richmond/Wayne County!
She shared that it’s in the rotation for her family because the food is so good with friendly service to match.

Even though Richmond is a city, it still kind of had that small town feel, at least it did inside El Rodeo! Everyone who served us knew Nancy and joked with her. It could be because she is tourism but, like she said, she frequents the place a lot and I couldn’t help but feel that that was a big part of it, too.
The menus are massive! All the traditional Mexican favorites are on here like quesadillas, chalupa, as well as some options that aren’t necessarily common elsewhere like tostaguac, flautas, and, my favorite, chicken and rice! Yay!
You already figured out that I ordered the Chicken and Rice, didn’t you? It was so, so good, But I’m getting ahead of myself.
Our youngest wanted a quesadilla. The oldest opted for tacos. My husband, Jeremiah? Well, he opted for a tasty beef and flour tortilla combination. Everyone was more than satisfied!

Reasonably priced, filling, and situated in a colorful, festive atmosphere makes El Rodeo a memorable Indiana Mexican restaurant for sure!
