It would be difficult to find a bit of land more scenic than that of Bugle Valley Elk Farm Tours in Roachdale, Indiana. Of course, those stately elk just hanging out and strolling around certainly help! In my last article I more thoroughly covered the Indiana Elk Farm so please feel free to skip back to that (the link is above) and read all about our experience. This time around, I’m just filling in a few blanks.
What you can see in the top image is the beginning of the elk tour. As you pull away from the property, you arrive inside a long fenced-in elk run. This enables the owner and his son to easily move elk to where they need them to go! As you can see now, a few of them got into the run and are just sort of milling around. Well, until we got there. Then they hurried back into their pen. I guess they knew where they needed to be! But the grass is always greener, as they say.
By the time you reach the end of the tour, you have seen an amazing chunk of this property! We ended in the barn area. We got to see where an animal that needed medical treatment would be led. It was basically a big stall with a bunch of little doors. Each little door would give someone easy access to the different part of the elk. Really, it was rather ingenious! I highly recommend a visit to Bugle Valley Elk Farm Tours. Plan ahead and bring a cooler: they sell tasty, delicious elk meat too!
