Separate nooks or shelving divides the vendors. What a selection of vendors it is!
Vintage 1980s toys are in great supply! Action figures, PEZ dispensers, and Care Bears galore. Our boys loved looking through that section of the shop–the one that contained plenty of toys from my own childhood.
But that’s part of the fun of an Indiana antique shop, isn’t it? Uncovering items that you once owned or that once had a place in grandma’s house. Sometimes I have come across items I had totally forgotten–until I saw it in an antique shop. I’ve seen my grandmother’s buffet at shops around the state! Funny, it always seemed so big to me.
Chesterton Antique ShopAre you a fan of vintage clothing? Browse through the racks of neat clothing in all manner of styles. When we first entered the spacious shop we saw the loveliest pair of Victorian shoes. Those old hats are amazing. If you can’t use them, maybe your local high school theater department or community theater could.
Linens, dolls, silverware (both actual silver and “everyday” sets), tons of old books, clocks, and then some, it will take you quite some time to get through this Chesterton shop. Pace yourself!
Sure, it’s always fun to browse, but when you’ve searched and searched…it makes sense to ask the folks “in the know.” If you are looking for something specific, well, when a shop is as big as this one, always ask the folks at the front desk if they have it! For an added (easy) bonus, Yesterday’s Treasures has a unique little feature. You can simply add an item to the online wish list! If you can’t find it, it’s a painless way to have other folks keeping on the lookout for it.
