The Flower Shoppe II in Delphi, Indiana is a spacious, bright, and airy florist shop that you’ve just got to see!

While plants and flowers normally shy away from me (I’m not so good about that whole watering business), The Flower Shoppe II in Delphi, Indiana made me feel like I really can do this!

She has such a fantastic selection of plants and flowers in all shapes, sizes, and hardiness, that it brought out the green thumb in me. I think it might just have the same effect on you! You won’t want to miss this Carroll County business for sure.

Fort Half Moon Antiques was our first taste of Paoli, Indiana.

We definitely picked the right place–what an interesting and unique look at this incredible Indiana town!

Paoli, Indiana has been through a lot lately–tornadoes and a fire have taken out part of the historic downtown–so Paoli has had plenty from which to recover. Yet, it’s the neat shops like Fort Half Moon Antiques that keep it going!

As you can see from the outside, it’s definitely eye-catching.

Step inside and it gets even better–a unique blend of Indiana antiques and area history!

Paoli, Indiana: Fort Half Moon Antiques Native Americans

Of course, you’ll find fun things to poke through: old books, teacups, art, and more but you’ll also see some things you haven’t seen before.

Fort Half Moon Antiques is also big on Orange County history.

You’ll find plenty of Indian artifacts here as well as this intriguing sign to the right!

What do you make of that? Were there really Native Americans that were only three feet tall?

Indiana Antiques and…Knowledgeable Caver?

Paoli, Indiana: Fort Half Moon Antiques

One of the owners of Fort Half Moon Antiques can tell you all about local history. He’s also a caver.

He willingly explores Indiana caves–and beyond!

His favorite here in the States? Marengo Cave. He says the formations are fantastic (and I have to agree). Since he’s traveled the world exploring caves, you can bet he knows!

He also informed us as to the extensive cave located below the town of Paoli itself!

Situated on a corner in a lovely building, The Flower Shoppe 2 in Delphi, Indiana is a green oasis.

Plants and potted flowers line the spacious windows–and give you a clue as to what lies inside!

It may not be common knowledge, but in my own home? Plants and flowers don’t do so well.

If they can’t tell me what they need–they probably won’t get it!

But the people at The Flower Shoppe 2 were so knowledgeable, they pointed me in the right direction. You know, towards the hardier plants.

Too bad I forgot to go back, pay for, and pick up my perfect plant! Don’t you just hate when that happens?

The big, beautiful purple and green plant, the Wandering Jew, in the window? Yeah, that should be in my home as we speak. Looks like I need to make a return trip to this fun Indiana town!

More than just plants and flowers, The Flower Shoppe 2 also has pretty things to put them in! Gardening containers and pots in all shades of the rainbow!

Talk about selection–there’s even a whole area of garden decor in this Carroll County green spot.

Location, Location, Location

So my thumb may be less than green. But that’s okay when you’ve got folks in the know.

When you need to pop in for a gift, there are more than plants and fresh or potted flowers. Stuffed animals, handbags, and more, you can get all your gifts here and be done!

Just don’t forget to look up before you leave–The Flower Shoppe is in an amazing building. Get a load of those detailed pillars and the fabulous tin ceiling! Awesome.

Roger and his wife, Vicki purchased the family business back in 1986. You could say they know their stuff!

For 55 years Steffens Jewelry has been Rensselaer’s hometown jeweler.

Bill’s Rock Shop in Delphi, Indiana is an awesome little shop. There are rocks and fossils everywhere!

I admit that I would use any excuse to visit Delphi, Indiana! But–Bill’s Rock Shop holds its own as a great downtown destination.

This would make such a great place to take the kids or grand-kids and give them a little lesson on rocks or fossils. Educational and fun!

I’ve heard tell that it’s seasonally opened, so please be sure to call ahead before you head out.

little Indiana opened the door of Bill’s Rock Shop in Delphi, Indiana and couldn’t believe it–this wasn’t a jewelry shop with a clever name but an actual ROCK shop!

Precious stones, fossils, and geodes, from large chunks of rock to jewelry, there’s a lot at which to look at this Carroll County find.

Though Bill has since passed on, you’ll find Bill’s wife behind the counter and ready to help.

Small though this Delphi shop may be, it is absolutely packed with rocks!

All shapes, sizes, and colors, this is one shop that’s so much fun to browse. In fact, hubs and I can’t wait to get back there–with Kid #1 in tow.

Now, I’ve visited a lot of small towns. A lot a lot of Indiana small towns! But I can tell you one thing–this is the first rock shop I’ve ever seen.

It was so much fun! There’s a whole lot of interesting rocks out there. So many colors, shapes, and sizes. Who’d a thunk it?

There are some giant pieces here. My favorites? Well, I liked all the sparkly rocks!

We picked out some interesting chunks for our two boys. Kid #1 uses them as treasure for his Lego people.

Glass bottles, old irons, toys…there’s a lot back here, too. Seriously, these shelves are packed full of things your grandma once owned. Browsing through Indiana antiques is so much fun!

I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many old irons and glass bottles in my life!

These two sisters combined their culinary and marketing know-how. Hey, they’ve even been featured in Midwest Living Magazine!

When little Indiana and family walked in, they were putting away product fresh from canning–the jars were still warm! Wow did it smell wonderful in there.

It’s hard to take photos when you are distracted by the goodness!

Two Cookin’ Sisters has a whole line of jams, jellies, relishes, and then some. They also carry the one product that started it all: Big Sister Salsa.

The sisters first revealed their signature product back in 2001 at the Apple and Popcorn Festival held each year in Brookston, Indiana.

After receiving such a positive response–the sisters knew they had a good thing going!

They’ve greatly expanded upon their original product. Now they are whipping out a great variety of fresh flavors.

While we were there, even mom was in the kitchen helping out. Now that’s a family business!

Romweber Marketplace is like fifty bajillion shops rolled into one. Who needs the mall when you have this great Indiana shop?

Many vendors are located inside the sprawling historic building. I do mean many–and there’s room to grow. You never know what you’ll find!

The holidays are almost here–and you don’t have to resort to big box toy shops especially if you are in the Batesville, Indiana area. But if you aren’t? It’s still worth the trip!

Christian’s Kinderladen is the best toy store I’ve seen yet! This is wall to wall (and floor to ceiling) toys. Believe me when I say that all of your favorites are here–including lots of great new stuff.

It’s so much fun. If there are kids on your list (or you need that perfect nostalgic toy), well, you only have to make one stop for them this Christmas!
