Roger and his wife, Vicki purchased the family business back in 1986. You could say they know their stuff!

Bill’s Rock Shop in Delphi, Indiana is an awesome little shop. There are rocks and fossils everywhere!

I admit that I would use any excuse to visit Delphi, Indiana! But–Bill’s Rock Shop holds its own as a great downtown destination.

This would make such a great place to take the kids or grand-kids and give them a little lesson on rocks or fossils. Educational and fun!

I’ve heard tell that it’s seasonally opened, so please be sure to call ahead before you head out.

little Indiana opened the door of Bill’s Rock Shop in Delphi, Indiana and couldn’t believe it–this wasn’t a jewelry shop with a clever name but an actual ROCK shop!

Precious stones, fossils, and geodes, from large chunks of rock to jewelry, there’s a lot at which to look at this Carroll County find.

Though Bill has since passed on, you’ll find Bill’s wife behind the counter and ready to help.

Small though this Delphi shop may be, it is absolutely packed with rocks!

All shapes, sizes, and colors, this is one shop that’s so much fun to browse. In fact, hubs and I can’t wait to get back there–with Kid #1 in tow.

Now, I’ve visited a lot of small towns. A lot a lot of Indiana small towns! But I can tell you one thing–this is the first rock shop I’ve ever seen.

It was so much fun! There’s a whole lot of interesting rocks out there. So many colors, shapes, and sizes. Who’d a thunk it?

There are some giant pieces here. My favorites? Well, I liked all the sparkly rocks!

We picked out some interesting chunks for our two boys. Kid #1 uses them as treasure for his Lego people.

Glass bottles, old irons, toys…there’s a lot back here, too. Seriously, these shelves are packed full of things your grandma once owned. Browsing through Indiana antiques is so much fun!

I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many old irons and glass bottles in my life!

These two sisters combined their culinary and marketing know-how. Hey, they’ve even been featured in Midwest Living Magazine!

When little Indiana and family walked in, they were putting away product fresh from canning–the jars were still warm! Wow did it smell wonderful in there.

It’s hard to take photos when you are distracted by the goodness!

Two Cookin’ Sisters has a whole line of jams, jellies, relishes, and then some. They also carry the one product that started it all: Big Sister Salsa.

The sisters first revealed their signature product back in 2001 at the Apple and Popcorn Festival held each year in Brookston, Indiana.

After receiving such a positive response–the sisters knew they had a good thing going!

They’ve greatly expanded upon their original product. Now they are whipping out a great variety of fresh flavors.

While we were there, even mom was in the kitchen helping out. Now that’s a family business!

Romweber Marketplace is like fifty bajillion shops rolled into one. Who needs the mall when you have this great Indiana shop?

Many vendors are located inside the sprawling historic building. I do mean many–and there’s room to grow. You never know what you’ll find!

The holidays are almost here–and you don’t have to resort to big box toy shops especially if you are in the Batesville, Indiana area. But if you aren’t? It’s still worth the trip!

Christian’s Kinderladen is the best toy store I’ve seen yet! This is wall to wall (and floor to ceiling) toys. Believe me when I say that all of your favorites are here–including lots of great new stuff.

It’s so much fun. If there are kids on your list (or you need that perfect nostalgic toy), well, you only have to make one stop for them this Christmas!

Dale, Indiana is a bit down the road from this country store. But have no fear–it’s easy to find and so much fun! At only two weeks old, little Indiana and family were so fortunate to find this brand new flea market and country store.

The Grainry in Dale, Indiana

Located inside of an old granary in this small Indiana town, surrounded by fields and farm animals or “pets” as they call them, and in the middle of nowhere–it’s certainly peaceful! Poke around and enjoy the stuff, especially the handmade pieces by one of The Grainry’s owners.

If you’ve got time to chat, make it a point to do so. They would love to tell you all about the interesting history of this family homestead. You’ll be glad you did!

Rensselaer, Indiana has been home to a really fun shop on the outskirts of town: Bags, Bangles, and Baskets.

You may think you have to turn to the big box shops when you live in a small Indiana town, but great finds like this one prove it just ain’t so!

Once located in downtown Rensselaer, Indiana, the owners of the shop are enjoying their new country location. Though it’s away from the bustling downtown, it’s now 2 miles South along Highway 231 and super easy to find.

The long red building is so cute. It looks like it was made for holding this cute and clean shop.

Outside on nice days you’ll find plenty of stuff just begging to come home with you–can you resist?

Here’s a little random tidbit about me: I don’t use purses. I was curious as to what this shop could offer to someone like me. The answer? A lot!

Hubs was along for the ride that day when we browsed this Indiana shop and even he found things he pointed to that were unique, interesting, or just plain make great gifts.

There’s all sorts of bags in a variety of colors and styles, but there’s also jewelry, candles, baskets and so much more!

Batesville, Indiana has the best toy store I have ever seen: Christian’s Kinderladen. Wall to wall unique gifts and toys for kids! It’s a toy extravaganza!

Named for the owner’s grandson, she started the shop when she had a hard time finding really good toys for him.

Walking into this Indiana toy store? Is what it must feel to stroll around Santa’s workshop!

It’s bright, it’s colorful, and it’s full of the most incredible toys. She’s definitely hit the mark!

Kid #1 had been going on about the toy store off and on for hours. To add fuel to the fire, our room at the history-filled Sherman House Inn faced Christian Kinderladen’s front window.

We knew we had to get in to this Ripley County shop–or suffer the consequences!

I’m so glad we had a chance to wander around inside before continuing on our little Indiana trip.

There’s really good stuff here! These aren’t the type of things you see at the big box shops. It’s more the sort of toys you think are out there but can’t ever seem to find.

Small Indiana towns win again! This toy store? Has it all!

Melissa and Doug, Sock Monkeys, Kitchens and play food, costumes from Aeromax (who rock, by the way), and so many more.

Seriously, hubs and I were as bad as the kids! We had such a good time browsing around. The owner reassured us from the start that it’s okay to touch them–good thing since Kid #2 (toddler) was with us!

Young or old, I think you’ll get a kick out of the toy offering. There’s a lot of new classic toys here, too. We absolutely loved it and can’t wait to go back and play!
