Story Time with Santa Claus at Santa’s Lodge in Santa Claus, Indiana

At Santa’s Lodge in Santa Claus, Indiana, bumping into Santa is the norm. He might be eating breakfast at St. Nick’s or you might even randomly bump into him in the hallway. See what I mean? He’s everywhere.

This Spencer County lodging option offers close proximity to the festivities in this holiday-themed town. When you decided to stay at Santa’s Lodge, you can choose to include a fun and festive touch: story time with the big guy in red and his wife.

Santa’s Lodge Story Time in Santa Claus, Indiana

For Kid #1, seeing Santa all over the same place he was sleeping was incredible. He loved story time with Santa and Mrs. Claus, and considered it the highlight of their Santa-themed programs. It is offered during the month of December as a part of their typical activities.

It was just cute. Kids all gathered in their snuggly pajamas, with the youngest members of the group running in circles because they were so excited–and probably more than a little tired and wired. After all, when you see Santa so much like you do at Santa’s Lodge, you are bound to get a little worked up about it.

Before the story began, kids lined up for more pictures with Santa and the Mrs., this time in the handsome sleigh in the lobby of Santa’s Lodge. With the Christmas tree as the backdrop, you can imagine how cute these pictures turned out.

Things to Do in Santa Claus, Indiana

Here’s a little Indiana tip for you: don’t feel like you have to rush down there ten minutes before 7:30. Every kid gets their picture taken with Santa and, unlike the mall, they aren’t rushed right through (parents are ensured a good shot). That being said, if you have little ones who really don’t do well waiting then you might want to head in a bit later. There were a lot of kids to get through.

Our toddler couldn’t make it through the waiting game and my husband, Jeremy, and I decided it made more sense to head back to the room for bed. He didn’t know that he was missing out on anything. It worked out. But Kid #1 absolutely loved it. The cookies and milk at the end are a nice touch although I think it would flow better if the cookies and milk were passed out before the story while the pictures are being taken so that it would give the children something to do while they are waiting–and to help make the night shorter.
