While it is not a You-Pick or a pumpkin patch, Skiles Orchard and Farm Market has twenty varieties of apples alone to choose from. These apples come from 2,000 trees. Is that amazing or what? That’s a whole lot of trees.

They also carry all that seasonal goodness that you crave: Pumpkins, Gourds, Mums, and Asters. Everything is so green and gorgeous. It’s a treat to walk around the greenhouses here! I can’t get enough of that growing smell after a long winter.

An Indiana Apple Orchard and Pumpkin Patch like Skiles Orchard is a hop, skip, and a jump away for most Hoosiers–even those who live in small towns. You can get the farm-fresh fruits and veggies you need right here. There are a few greenhouses that you can wander through at Skiles Orchard and Farm Market to add a bit of pizzazz to your yard. The plants are just beautiful.

Outside of the greenhouses, you’ll find rows of tables with even more plants. Everything is labeled to make it easy for anyone to find what they need. Vegetable plants, herbs, annuals, and perennials, they really seem to have it all. I have a feeling that if you don’t know exactly what you need, that they will be happy to help guide you to the right plants for your yard.

Skiles Orchard even has an indoor gift area with local goods for sale like gourd birdhouses and unique handcrafted wood items. It’s definitely something you don’t see every day and there are plenty of different items to paw through. I’ve heard that they make an incredible apple cider, too. I suppose that isn’t a surprise, given the sheer amount of trees they have! Still, you will want to call ahead and see if they have any available. It is a seasonal item, of course, so once it is gone, it’s gone until the next year.
