little Indiana and family love Greek food and Athens Grill in Lowell, Indiana is outstanding! It’s not very often that you see any ethnic foods around Indiana towns so Lowell, Indiana should count their lucky stars they have such a fantastic dining option. Although, I guess they do county themselves along the lucky! When we asked locals for their suggestion on a great place to grab lunch, it was Athens Grill greek restaurant at the top of the list.
I’ve always had a great love of Greek food. My feta cheese obsession began when I was in elementary school and hasn’t ended yet! Green olives, oh yeah. During my early twenties, at one point I lived just a few blocks away from a fantastic family-owned Greek restaurant in Indianapolis (south siiide). That’s when I really got to sample a variety! Finding Athens Grill was like stepping back in time. Although I much prefer the slower-pace and friendliness of a small town, I do miss the diverse ethnic offerings when it comes to dining! This Lowell restaurant certainly helps satisfy that urge with wonderful food at really nice prices.
As you can see, Athens Grill is good food. This Lake County restaurant has been a staple in the area for a long time for a reason! Check out the images below and then head out for a meal to remember! Just know that the dining area is really small so you may want to make back-up plans when it comes to where you will dine (just in case the seating area is full). I would highly recommend taking it to Evergreen Park. There’s a nice paved trail, a playground, and a pond.
