Folks at the Hendricks County Courthouse in Danville, Indiana sure know how to get in the spirit of Christmas. There are festive wreaths, lights strung from one end of the courthouse to businesses located across the street, and a giant “bowl” of ornaments that surround the stately county courthouse–and that’s just on the outside. This is one festive Indiana town!
It seems like every business had something going on. Some boasted extended hours while others passed out free treats or hot chocolate. The live nativity scene had an impressive range of animals while kids and the occasional adult skated on the rink set up just for the event. It is just a magical place in December. If you can manage to catch the Hendricks County Holly Days and Christmas Around the Square Event, I would highly recommend it.
While I know that most of us don’t ever think to stop in a courthouse just to look at the architecture, I highly recommend you start! Even in the smallest of towns, our Indiana courthouses can be absolutely beautiful–just take a look at the gorgeous window in the Hendricks County Courthouse in Danville, Indiana. It’s a beautiful dome! The tall Christmas tree looked so lovely with that kind of a backdrop.
