As soon as we stepped into Kinser’s Bakery in Monticello, Indiana, I knew that it would be good. It wasn’t because it smelled fantastic or that everyone was all smiles but for one simple fact: the brown coffee mug.
You can check it out below, but once I caught site of that plain brown coffee mug, I knew that this Monticello, Indiana bakery would live up to the word on the street. That style of mug is in use by some of the best mom and pop restaurants I’ve ever visited. This time was no different. I can’t explain it.
Kinser’s Bakery is the modern equivalent of Cheers: where everybody knows your name. Folks came in and Kinser’s Bakery would ask, “The usual?” Now that’s the kind of service I love to see–and delicious baked goods to boot!
