Stepping into our room, we were greeted with a country theme in earth tones. That is an appropriate choice since we are in the middle of the very large and activity-packed Brown County State Park.
A large window overlooked a wooded area. Brown County is famous for its natural resources. How lovely is it to have a view of nature greet you in the morning. The window-seat was certainly a popular reading spot for our two boys. But, once they caught sight of the large pool area complete with water slide, any pleasure over the window-seat was quickly replaced!
They changed into their swimsuits so fast, they probably set a new record. The four of us headed down to the new aquatic center. It was around 5:00 PM and, other than the lifeguards, we just about had the place to ourselves.

We took advantage of the life jackets available to borrow for our boys. Even with the lifeguards, you can never be too careful. With a lazy river, a deeper pool complete with a net, basket, and balls, as well as the water slide and toddler splash zone, our boys were rarin’ to get in.
Kid #1 loved the slide. He especially loved the fact that there was no line. He could go as many times as he wanted. How many times did we watch him zoom down the slide? Many. So very many. Kid #2 enjoyed the shallow end where he could splash without having to hold onto mom or dad. The spray “gun” was a fun touch.
After a day of endless “don’t touch” while we explored the small Indiana town I know they enjoyed a chance to do something just for them. Truth be told, the water was chilly, and I abandoned ship early. I hopped in the hot tub to warm up while my husband, Jeremy, entertained the boys. I’m sure it was just an “off” day and that any heating kinks have been worked out.
