Octave Grill in Chesterton, Indiana does burgers…but not just any burgers, tallgrass beef burgers. Always fresh, never frozen, and combined with Fair Oaks Farms Cheeses, hamburgers at Octave Grill are practically perfect in every way! It was so hard to decide. We scrutinized the chalkboard menu from our seats, trying to figure out what sounded the best. When everything sounds good, you are in trouble!
This downtown Chesterton, Indiana burger place has changing beers on tap and unique burger specials that change each month. As if the fun offerings on the menu weren’t enough! I knew I wanted the sweet potato tater tots and whole grain mustard dipping sauce. Then I narrowed in on my burger: Fried Cheese Burger. Topped with olive tapenade, it sounded really good. My husband went with the Chanute, grilled cremini mushrooms and bacon with Havarti and bleu cheeses. He decided to get a side of the Buffalo French Fries. We ended up trading! I loved the flavor combination of the buffalo sauce, the bleu cheese, and the fries. He loved the tater tots. I love when it works out like that. The kids were thrilled with their sandwiches (grilled cheese and ham and cheese). It was just one of those perfect meals.
Don’t do like we did: you’ll want to save room for dessert! At Octave Grill, it’s all homemade and, I’m sure, as delicious as everything else that is whipped up in this Porter County hangout.
