Popolano’s Restaurant in Chesterton, Indiana is yet another dining option in this small town!

Again, this Porter County Restaurant is also in another house turned business–and is this cute or what?

That’s the thing that really makes Chesterton unusual. If you’ve ever visited Nashville, Indiana, both of these Indiana towns make good use of a small space by converting grand homes into thriving businesses.

As you can see, our visit to Popolano’s Restaurant was not during the dead of winter so we had the opportunity to sit outside. It’s a spacious outdoor space!

While this Porter County Restaurant is fenced in, it sits on a busy road so if you enjoy people-watching, like we do, you’ll love it, too. If not, head on inside and soak up the inviting atmosphere. What a menu to consider!

My husband, Jeremy, ordered the Blackened Tuna Aglio Olio, pan-seared yellow fin Tuna with a nicely (over)stuffed green pepper while I nabbed the Italian Bus Tour: my choice of three classic Italian entrees being Eggplant Strata, Lasagna, and the Chicken Crespelle, think chicken, caramelized onions, spinach, and cheese in a crepe and topped with sauce.

But alas–both the Eggplant Strata and the Lasagna were sold out!

I opted for the only other choices on the bus tour, the Fettucini Alfredo and the Chicken Parmesan to go with the Chicken Crepelle (my fave of the three). They were good but I’ve since heard that I should have opted for the Tequila Lime Pizza when the Eggplant Strata was gone!

How did I even miss a pizza menu? I have no idea but given my love for pizza…well, that’s an easy one. I did try a bite of Kid #2’s cheese pizza and the homemade crust was very good! Nice and crispy.

Go There

On a nice day, you will love sitting outside, and if you are lucky, you may hear a bit of live entertainment too! Our boys loved that.

I’ll be making a return trip to Popolano’s Restaurant in Chesterton, Indiana. If this pizza is something they are “known for” well then, by golly–I’ve got a bit of research left to do!

Just don’t forget to tell ’em that little Indiana sent you!
