Fall in Brown County is a very busy time of year–and that is when Miller’s Ice Cream House really churns it out. They make over 100 gallons of ice cream a day. Yes, that’s a lot of ice cream. You can see their equipment from the open style of their shop.

That’s a lot of ice cream loving Hoosiers. It goes to show that homemade ice cream is almost impossible to resist. We already know that, though, don’t we?

But no matter what time of year you visit, what’s really incredible about this Brown County ice cream favorite is the selection.

For ice cream, you can find flavors that range from Blackberry to Mint Chocolate Chip and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough plus Peppermint Candy, Peanut Butter Cup, Blueberry Custard, and Lemon ice cream.

Of course, there’s also the usual stuff like Vanilla, Chocolate, and Strawberry ice cream as well.

You can have shakes or sundaes, floats or smoothies, or even specialties like a banana split or Persimmon Pudding. For those of you unfamiliar with persimmons at all, you should know that Indiana produces this fruit, and that it is good, good stuff.

Since Miller’s Ice Cream House is known for their Persimmon Pudding, it’s probably easy to figure out what I ordered. It’s made with local Persimmon fruit and served with a dip of ice cream. Although I could have chosen Vanilla or French Vanilla, I went with Persimmon ice cream. That was excellent and definitely memorable.
