That may sound like a big claim, but Andy’s Coffee Shop and Ice Cream Parlor is a unique combination that would be such a boon for any small Indiana town to possess. For starters, they roast their own coffee. This isn’t just ho-hum coffee either, but varieties from around the world.

As it is in a small town, cross table talk is common. When the man nearby ordered Chicken Cabbage Soup, I had to take a look at it. I had never heard of that kind and I do love cabbage. It looked delicious.

Jack brought over some Chicken Cabbage Soup in a bowl for me to sample. As someone who frequently makes soup, I have high standards and this absolutely exceeded them in every way. It tasted as great as it looked with farmer’s market produce like tomatoes and cabbage.

Everything is homemade. After sampling a chocolate chip scone, well, it makes ME want to move to Delphi.

Andy’s Coffee Shop and Ice Cream Parlor Carries Glover’s Ice Cream

I can’t forget dessert. Besides an ever-changing array of fresh, homemade goods like brownies or cookies, there’s also hand-dipped ice cream from family owned and Indiana produced brand Glover’s. With 19 flavors to choose among (at the time of this writing) as well as sundaes or a banana split, the boys and I had a tough time choosing.

Kid #2 ended up with Superman ice cream in a dish, Kid #1 decided to try Bubble Gum, and I went with owner Jack’s suggestion and ordered the Orange Pineapple ice cream. THIS is what ice cream should always taste like. At Andy’s Place, they don’t skimp on filling your cone, either.

If you are lucky, you may make it in when Andy’s Coffee Shop and Ice Cream Parlor hosts a live music event using the stage in the back of this Carroll County cafe. How fun is that?
