I remembered visiting here years ago. I was hoping it was still around. I was so happy to see that it was.. There are a lot of different kinds of candy at this Indiana candy store. Buy it by the piece, the pound, or perfect little serving size kind of baggies. That’s a smart idea. There’s a lot of foot traffic in the area. What better lunchtime dessert than grabbing a pre-measured pack of your favorite sweets?
Shelves, jars, containers, and boxes hold all the brightly colored candy you’ve ever dreamed about.
Candy Buttons, saltwater taffy in all kinds of flavors, chocolates (that I’ve heard are made by the owner herself), caramels, gum, jelly beans, gummies, and so much more. It’s a dangerous place to browse and also incredibly fun.
I love the story for this place, too. Back in 1988, a mother wanted to work somewhere “fun” so, she and her two daughters went into a partnership and bought the not quite a year old business. They are still going strong today–only now, there are grandchildren involved. Now that is a family business!

You don’t see a stand-alone candy shop very often. Does it make anyone else quicken their step a bit or is that just me? We’ve all got our favorites, I guess.
This time, Kid #2 was along for the ride. I was curious to see how he would react to what can only be called Candy Heaven.
Well, he didn’t choose candy at all. Instead, he opted for his favorite snack: a bag of freshly-made popcorn! I should have known but it completely slipped my mind that popcorn was even an option.
He would have it as a snack every single day if he could. So, Candy Cove was a definite win for him. Well, it looked and smelled so good that I ended up getting a bag of it too. Together, we walked around the Courthouse Square and admired the architecture. We’ve agreed that it is a beautiful courthouse.

To enter the Courthouse Shops, look for one of the two side entrances to these basement shops–and have fun browsing. There are many different shops waiting.
