As the only building with three stories in this small Indiana town, you could say that the woodcarver’s club really stands out! Just wait until you get inside!
This long ago hardware and general store turned woodcarving headquarters is huge! When you step inside, there are long tables set up featuring the contest participants work.
From teenagers to adults, both males and females, with a great range of talent were well-represented here. I had to keep reminding myself that everything here was made of wood!

Folks from Grant County and other parts of Eastern Indiana have carved things from wood I wouldn’t have thought possible.
Sure, I expected a lot of Christian work and some Native American themes and those are here (and wow, the details are just incredible). But what I didn’t expect were the clocks, the vases, the wall art, and the birds!
Although you wouldn’t believe it from the work exhibited here, these aren’t wood-working professionals, but folks who work with wood as a hobby. The skill within these walls is mind boggling.
