little Indiana and family were in need of a bit of fun. After exploring this part of Southern Indiana and stepping in and out of numerous buildings, we really needed to let loose and just play. They were probably getting a little tired of all the “look, but don’t touch” reminders. Really, we were all ready to just BE for a little while.
Fortunately, and accidentally, we found Golf Shores Fun Center! This Corydon attraction is just off the main road but we completely missed it somehow. I’m so glad we made a wrong turn and stumbled on to this one.
Clean and bright, Golf Shores Fun Center does mini golf right! Although the outdoor course was really tempting, we chose to play on the indoor mini golf course this time. This isn’t your typical game of golf. Oh, no! This one is played under blacklight.

The owner let us know that the highlighters would show up really well in the blacklight on our faces! We quickly drew mustaches on each other. We’re fun like that. Or weird. Or maybe some sort of wonderful combination of both. Either way, our boys thought that was pretty funny…and I’m sure the restaurant we visited afterward was a bit curious!
I love the theme on the blacklight mini golf course. It’s the ocean and an island (with an erupting volcano). All of the art work has been done by local kids in art classes from seven area schools. It’s actually really impressive and cost effective. They got the chance to work on a unique project and were in turn supplied with pizza. Now that’s a great deal for everyone involved! The youngest was only 9. Isn’t that just an awesome idea?
Purchase a pair of 3D glasses (they are then yours to keep) to admire the 3D view. I can’t believe students did this one! It looks so good.
Unfortunately, even with my hole in one, I lost by a couple of strokes to my husband, Jeremy. Isn’t that the worst? On the plus side, the youngest even got a hole in one! Total and complete luck (he is only 4) but still. He was so excited!
