Blue Heron Winery in Cannelton, Indiana is located on some of the most peaceful, breath-taking property we’ve ever seen! High, high up on a hill, it’s definitely a scenic route. At least it isn’t difficult to find! Just follow the road. As someone afraid of heights, I admit that it got to me a little bit but after my first view of the property, it didn’t even matter. This Indiana winery is beautiful.
From dry wines to sweet, owners Lynn and Gary will help guide you to your new favorite Indiana wine. Well, you could probably use somewhere to enjoy it. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the tasty wine right here in Cannelton, Indiana on the multi-leveled deck that overlooks the Ohio River from 300 feet up. It’s a view like none other. Our boys and, apparently, the owners’ cat, couldn’t get enough of it.
There’s quite a few memorable wines here. Four Star, named for family member’s military service, is a popular choice. Just don’t forget to try a sample of the Blueberry Wine. Made from local grapes and juices, it’s very good and a slightly sweet ending to another perfect day in Perry County. I love when small businesses work with each other.
