It is possible to have a great Family Game Night with preschoolers! Don’t be surprised if your preschooler isn’t the only one having fun!

Our family has enjoyed the following games not only with our preschooler, but with big kids that like to get in on it, too. Keep an eye open for these great board games at your local toy store or game shop. Affiliate links are included below. Family Game Night for Preschoolers

Cat and Mouse by Ravensburger

Cat and Mouse by Ravensburger

Ravensburger Cat & Mouse Game— Adorable and normally a semi-quick play, Cat and Mouse by Ravensburger is a game your preschool will also pull out to play solo! As the mouse, you need to make your way around the circular board collecting cheese…just beware of the cat!

Buckaroo— Not exactly a board game, Buckaroo is a horse, and you know how preschoolers love horses! The goal is to take turns placing Buckaroo’s accessories on him without making him “jump” up! It makes our son laugh and feel a real sense of accomplishment when he manages to win. He frequently pulls this one out to play solo.

Race to the Treasure by Peaceable Kingdom Board Game

Race to the Treasure by Peaceable Kingdom Board Game

Peaceable Kingdom / Race to the Treasure! Award Winning Cooperative Game for Kids— A new favorite, I picked this game up at our local gift store. It’s a cooperative game so everyone works together to plot out the path to the treasure. Just beware of those ogres! It’s not an easy game to win, but with everyone winning or losing, little ones won’t be in tears!

Puppy Racers— This was one of those town wide yard sale finds and wow is it fun! Place the large, light balls at the end of the puppy path and then race them back and forth! The puppies push the balls back into home. It is so cute and, again, something your child will drag out and play with all by themselves.

Hi Ho CherryO by Milton Bradley

Hi Ho CherryO by Milton Bradley

Hi Ho Cherry-O— Hi Ho! Cherry-O is wonderful counting practice and great for developing those fine motor skills since the cherries are rather small. Simply spin the spinner, follow the directions, and fill your bucket with cherries–while keeping them away from the pesky dog and bird, of course!
