Situated inside of a nicely renovated Victorian home, the Fairmount Historical Museum is a wonderful destination!
Known for its ample collection of personal items that once belonged to James Dean as well as a room for Garfield (this was also the home of cartoonist Jim Davis), the town history shouldn’t be overlooked.
There’s so much here! There’s the trophies, the images, and the awards from the old Fairmount Academy that’s long since closed. There’s Mason stuff and fossils and, and, and…plenty to look through and consider. For some, it’s a step back in time, while for others, it’s a deeper look into the roots of the town, the ties of the community. Seasonally open, so please call ahead.
