Every so often I go back through older folders to see what I had missed. Boy, did I miss something! I can’t believe I hadn’t shared this unique mom and pop Indiana bakery.
Okay, so Chesterton Cake Shoppe isn’t exactly a traditional bakery. They call themselves a dessert shop with a focus on cakes.
Yes, they have an assortment of cookies, cupcakes, and bar cookies but here, the focus is on crafting clever, creative cakes! As you can see in the image below–they have that down pat!

In the interests of research, the four of us decided we should probably get something to carry over to the nearby park gazebo. There’s nothing nicer than sitting in a park chowing down on bakery items! The trouble was…what should we choose?
Well, I love a soft frosted sugar cookie! Yes, this one was very good. Mmm!
The youngest picked out a cupcake. He’s a sucker for sprinkles. I think he got more frosting on his face than into his mouth but he was definitely a fan. His cupcake choice was not an easy decision, not with cookies and cream cupcakes, red velvet cupcakes, and good ol’ vanilla cupcakes on the menu.
The oldest and my husband were eyeing those peanut butter bars! Wow. Those were great!
