Peggy Sue’s Diner in Chesterton, Indiana
Celebrating the birthday of Kid #2, we were quick to claim a spot at the counter during the breakfast rush.
In our travels, we’ve learned that counter seating is the way to go when it’s an option! You are part of the action, you get fast service, and a little more chit chat with the servers. Kids enjoy a higher vantage point.
At Peggy Sue’s Diner, our boys particularly enjoyed the counter seat–there’s a lot of stuff to look at tacked up to the walls! License plates cover a whole wall alone! But we couldn’t gawk at the wall all day. We had to decide what to order!
Chesterton, Indiana Restaurant
The menu at this Northern Indiana restaurant includes your typical homemade breakfast fare: omelets, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, waffles, and french toast.
I decided on bacon, eggs (over medium), and hashbrowns with a side of toast. Although it’s probably not the fanciest breakfast option, sometimes you just want the basics.
My husband ordered a skillet that was a combination of bacon, eggs, and potatoes. It looked great! Evidently he thought so, too. I didn’t even get on tiny little bite!
Our boys got the pancakes. Served with their own little pitcher of syrup, they felt like big stuff! They thought they were really good pancakes and ate every bit.
