Stepping into this restaurant almost made me feel under-dressed in my jeans! But the thing about Almost Home is that, although its nice, it’s also comfortable. In fact, they like to say that they specialize in “stylish comfort food.”
I think that hits the nail on the head. It’s lovely! Exposed brick walls, fantastic tin ceiling, archway…there’s so much to love about this Indiana restaurant.
With a restaurant and the attached Swizzle Stick bar (isn’t that a cute name?), and even catering on the side, there’s a lot going on here at Almost Home Restaurant!

The food that I sampled at this Indiana restaurant was phenomenal! It wasn’t an easy decision, either. The menu is just fantastic and full of fresh items. There’s a great selection but not an overpowering selection. Know what I mean? So, with just the three of us this time, Kid #2 immediately claimed dibs on the chicken strips with fries.
Kid #1 wanted a burger. He barely had to flip through the menu to figure that out! He also opted for the homemade potato chips.
As for me? Their salads sounded so good! I almost got the Black and Blue Steak Salad: sirloin on greens, with strawberries, blueberries, gorgonzola, spicy walnuts, and blueberry vinaigrette. I also considered the homemade chicken salad with celery, onion, grapes, slivered almonds, and a sauce, on a croissant.
But the hand breaded pork tenderloin sandwich was calling my name! As you can see from my image above, even the pork tenderloin sandwich looks pretty! Served with homemade chips, it was absolutely excellent!
Definitely ditch the fries for the incredible homemade potato chips. Mmm! There is nothing better than homemade potato chips…except for our awesome dessert! But I’m getting ahead of myself.

Almost Home in Greencastle, Indiana is an award-winning restaurant for a reason! Just please oh please save room for dessert! That beautiful slice of Strawberry Pizza is probably one of my all-time favorite desserts “out.” It’s just amazing! I can still taste that delicious crust. SO GOOD!
You’ve got to add this to your list of “musts.” You MUST try entrees from this restaurant, the homemade chips, and definitely dessert!
