Homemade grape juice sounds like it would be complicated, right? It leaves me wondering if I will need to stomp grapes once again!
What do you do when your neighbor gives you a whole basket full of gorgeous grapes? You make homemade grape juice. It’s canning homemade grape juice without the heat and the hassle.
What else do you do? You get her recipe because it’s so good! This canning recipe is from Backwoods Home Magazine.
Canning Homemade Grape Juice
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Grapes
- 1 Cup Sugar
- Quart Ball Jars
Instructions
- First, rinse off the grapes and remove the stems.
- As best you can, measure one cup of grapes and one cup of sugar and add it to the quart sized-jar. Mix or not. It's up to you!
- Fill the rest of the jar with boiling water. Be careful! Leave a bit of room at the top, like 1/2" or so.
- Keep the jar clean--wipe it off if needed.
- Screw on the rings and lids to each jar.
- In your water bath, add in enough boiling water to cover the jars. Set your timer for 25 minutes.
- Carefully remove them from the boiling water and set on rack to dry and cool.
- Give them two months to sit. Then, add up to a cup of water to the juice. Strain off grapes and get ready to enjoy the most delicious and easy to make grape juice you've ever tried!
