I can readily admit that my superhero weakness is ice cream. Summer or winter: I like it, I love it, I want some more of it. Busy Bee had me at HELLO!
Did someone say Blue Moon ice cream? Yes, that mystical, magical flavor of pure awesomeness makes an appearance here each year. So, too does Blue Raspberry, White Cake Batter, German Chocolate, Strawberry, and a whole bunch more. Isn’t it fun to mix it up a bit every now and again? They offer these special flavors as part of a range of changing weekly specials. They normally have chocolate and vanilla soft serve so the new additions keep it fresh.

At Busy Bee, I had to decide between a chocolate dip on my ice cream cone or something called a crunch cone. I decided that I had to try the “crunch” cone. That’s good. I can see why it is so popular. I have since tried the chocolate dip cone and the sprinkle cone. Yes, those are excellent choices as well.
The kid had a colorful sprinkle cone and they put a face on it. How cute. He thought that was a fun touch. My husband, Jeremy, had a Peanut Butter Shake and enjoyed every last sip. Everyone was happy.
Now, they do have something called a Tornado which is similar to a big box sort of ice cream confection that you are probably familiar with but these are so much better. We’re talking awesome flavors here. My personal favorite Tornado flavor hands-down is S’mores–but ask for it with vanilla ice cream instead of the chocolate. Trust me. It’s the best that way. My husband has since favored the Boston Shake. It is a sundae and a shake in one cup. I can see why he likes it!
Of course, there’s more than that. This is a full-service ice cream parlor. Busy Bee pushes out all sorts of sweet treats like slushies, banana splits, shakes, FlavorBurst, which is vanilla ice cream swirled with your choice of flavoring, and then some. Yup, something for everyone.

Busy Bee Freeze is only open Spring to Fall so don’t take too long getting out to this cute Indiana town. You can bet that the first day they are open, no matter how chilly or rainy, there will still be a line of locals waiting to get their favorite menu item. You can also bet that it’s probably ice cream.
Who can resist a mom and pop Indiana ice cream shop? Not me, that’s for sure. One taste and you’ll agree.
