Thanks to my Italian heritage and a grandmother who could really cook, I admit that I can be a bit picky when it comes to restaurants serving Italian foods.
But this is one Indiana town restaurant that greatly exceeded my expectations–and certainly does a phenomenal job of dishing out course after course of delicious (and lovely) Italian food!
From our appetizer to the main course, we enjoyed every single bite.

But that’s not to say that getting to the point of eating was easy! Lucrezia Cafe has a wonderful menu so it took us some time to make up our minds!
Right away we knew we wanted to try the Antipasto Platter. With our boys along, it just felt it would be a good fit. We were absolutely right! There was something for everyone on here.
Do I get the grilled Wild Alaskan Salmon in a lemon-dill sauce or the Seared Duck Breast with sun-dried cherry and marsala sauce? Stuffed Eggplant or Braised Lamb Shank? Ah! What a conundrum.
In the end, I chose the Chicken Vesuvio, a disjointed chicken pan-fried with garlic, rosemary and roasted potatoes. My husband, Jeremy, ordered the Veal Picatta, and our boys had hot buttered noodles with a dusting of fresh Parmesan cheese (Kid #2) and Penne en Casserole with meat sauce (Kid #1).

It’s everything we look for all rolled into one outstanding Porter County restaurant: great food, great service, and a comfortable atmosphere. A definite hit with all of us–and that includes our 3 year old.
