We were shown around the spacious home and, at more than 7,000 square feet, this most definitely qualifies as a spacious home! Still, it was very tasteful and warm for all the elbow room.
Our room, the Tinkerbelle room, held two very oh so comfortable Queen beds. With a private bathroom and nice, deep bathtub, Kid #2 was in bath heaven! I loved the big comfy chair by the window.
Peeking into the other rooms, they all look very nice, clean, and bright. With a theater room in progress, a trail carved into the gorgeous expanse of wooded terrain, and great views all around, it made the perfect home base for a few days on the town!
Greencastle, Indiana Bed and Breakfast
This was a “test” trip. Our two boys and I ventured forth alone to see how they would do with one less adult to supervise. I decided that this would make a great place to stay for the kids for one very big reason: the three fat labs at 3 Fat Labs Bed and Breakfast!
What kid wouldn’t perk up with the prospect of an animal pal at the end of the day? At this unique bed and breakfast, there are three sweet and friendly and, yes, very fat labs. Older and slower, even more bashful younger children will feel comfortable and, perhaps, even cheered by their presence.
After initial brief shyness, our boys quickly made themselves at home while I chatted up the owners. You couldn’t find nicer folks! Friendly and hospitable, I’m not sure there’s anything we didn’t talk about! Evenings flew by.
Plus, those soft ginger cookies, a very old family recipe, were something else. I could have eaten all the icing covered, no raisins version! Kid #2 has asked me every single day to make them. If only I could!
Just imagine: you could dine with a view that includes all sorts of wildlife! Deer are frequent visitors. During our stay we even saw two coyotes roaming! Neat! Neighboring horses often explore the pasture as well. It was truly enjoyable–as was every other part of our stay here.
I’ll never understand why some folks choose to stay at an impersonal lodging option when you can have all the comforts of home and then some at a great Indiana bed and breakfast like 3 Fat Dogs in Greencastle, Indiana!
You know the drill, I’ll share more images of this one in a month or two. You won’t want to miss it.
