It’s so easy to get outside and explore when the weather cooperates like this. Thanks, Indiana.

What a week. We ate phenomenal barbecue, stayed in a lovely, comfortable bed and breakfast with pink barns and amazing views, and revisited in images a unique restaurant with train cars. Eli Rose Social Media popped over and shared how to manage social media during the holidays for all of you small business owners.

Then? There was time for a Sloppy Joes recipe–and celebrating! Kid #2 turned 8 this week so we selected a particularly unusual bed and breakfast to help celebrate. You’ll want to stay tuned for that one. They don’t make homes like that every day.

Indiana Bloggers: Hoosier Updates from Around the Web 6/30/2013 — 7/6/2013 — I thought it would be fun to highlight one article each week from the Hoosier bloggers you know and love. You know, previously Featured little Indiana Bloggers.

LaRita’s Lodge Bed and Breakfast in Upland, Indiana — When you are trying to find LaRita’s Lodge bed and breakfast in Upland, Indiana, you will notice the pink barns long before you ever view the large white house. Pink barns? Yes, you absolutely read that one right.

Sloppy Joes Recipe — Our oldest has been a huge fan of this Sloppy Joe Recipe for a very long time. Found long ago on Food.com, my printed copy is now worn and splattered. That’s always the mark of a keeper.

Bub’s II Barbecue in Rensselaer, Indiana — With a great Mexican restaurant at Ayda’s Restaurant, two great pizza places (Rick’s and Schmidy’s), and my favorite place to get breakfast (Martin’s Restaurant)–Bub’s II Barbecue in Rensselaer, Indiana was just what Rensselaer needed.

Managing Social Media During the Holidays — With Fourth of July right around the corner, many people’s schedules are becoming hectic. There are BBQs to plan, trips to make to the lake and fireworks to purchase (wherever it’s legal, of course). This makes social media the last thing on many people’s minds. However, as most people know, consistency is key when managing your social media presence.

Dreams of Duneland by Kenneth J. Schoon: A Pictorial History of the Indiana Dunes Region — Do you love the Indiana dunes area? Have you ever wondered about the history of the Indiana dunes region? If you have answered “Yes” to both of these questions, then you will want to take a peek at Dreams of Duneland by Kenneth J. Schoon.

Images from The Siding Restaurant in Peru, Indiana — Sometimes, the outside of a place doesn’t really give you a clue as to what you will find on the inside! At least, that’s the way we felt when we stepped into The Siding Restaurant in Peru, Indiana.

Indiana Blogs: Indiana Anna — Indiana Anna is an Indiana blog that shares stories and images of a family in Indiana. Whether they are at a local strawberry farm or at a state park scavenger hunt, they are doing and exploring the state every chance they get! When she’s not on the rode, you might find Anna in the kitchen–sharing yummy, healthy recipes with her readers.
